June 12 at Headshots

AAPSNet will meet on Tuesday, June 12 at 6:00 p.m. at Headshots, located at 2120 N. Woodlawn (between 13th and 21st Streets on the east side).  We will meet in the bar area.  There is an $5 charge for those who want to play video games; board games are also available.  Headshots has food and drinks; they also have coffee and treats in the cafe side.

AAPSNet was formed for young adults with high-functioning autism and their parents.  We meet to discuss concerns, challenges, information, resources, and ideas, and to just socialize.  All are welcome to join us!

May 8, 2018 get-together

Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 8 at 6:00 at Headshots 2120 N. Woodlawn, Suite 324 (at 21st St. N. and Woodlawn).  Meet inside the bar/video area.  Our meetings are free and open to the public.

Please join us for socializing, video games, sharing of information and resources and support!  Adults with high-functioning adults as well as their parents are welcome!  Cost to play video games is $5 ($2.50 before 6:00); no charge if you are not playing games.  Board games are also available.  Food and drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are available for purchase at Headshots.

AAPSNet Meeting with guests from Greater Expectations/Autism Avenue

Join us at Headshots on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:00 for our next meeting.  Our guest speakers from Greater Expectations/Autism Avenue will be with us to tell us about their fantastic program. Meeting Tuesday, February 13

Join us for conversation, exchange of ideas and resources, and some fun at Headshots. We can chat in the cafe (a bit quieter) while anyone who would like to play video games can be in the bar/video game area. Board games are also available. NOTE: if you arrive before 6:00, the fee to play games is half-price ($2.50). There is no fee if you aren't playing games.
Headshots has food and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks as well as coffee.All are welcome---our meetings are open to the public. AAPSNet is for young adults with high-functioning adults and their parents. We offer support, ideas, and opportunities to socialize. Please join us for a fun evening! 

Headshots is located at 2120 N. Woodlawn (21st Street and Woodlawn). We will meet at 6:00 just inside the front door at the bar entrance (look for us also in the cafe area if you arrive after 6:00 in case we decide to sit there).

AAPSNet at Headshots on Tuesday, January 9

Join us next Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 6:00 (NOTE: this is earlier than our usual start time) for some food and board/video games at http://headshotsbar.com/, located at 2120 N. Woodlawn, Suite 324, in Brittany Center (at Woodlawn and 21st Street).  See their website for a listing of all the board games and video games they have available; also, check out their menu as well. 

If you will playing games, there is a $5 charge (no charge if you are just eating).  You can also bring your own games, although there is still a $5 charge unless you bring all the components (screen, surge protector, everything).  We will plan to stay until about 7:30 or 8:00.

Our group for young adults with high-functioning autism and their parents meets for support as well as exchange of information, ideas, and resources.  We decided not to have a formal "meeting" this time but instead do something fun!  All are welcome to join us!

December meeting with guest speaker Ben French

Our AAPSNet meeting will be on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library of the Wichita Public Library, 223 S. Main (just south of Douglas and north of Kellogg).  We will meet in the Board room on the 3rd floor.

Our guest speaker is Ben French of Innovative Independent Living Solutions, a nonprofit to empower adults affected by disabilities with independent living skills so that they are able to thrive in our community as value-adding/contributing members of the community.

Please join our group of high-functioning adults and their parents for exchange of information and resources and for support. All are welcome to attend!
