December meeting with guest speaker Ben French

Our AAPSNet meeting will be on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library of the Wichita Public Library, 223 S. Main (just south of Douglas and north of Kellogg).  We will meet in the Board room on the 3rd floor.

Our guest speaker is Ben French of Innovative Independent Living Solutions, a nonprofit to empower adults affected by disabilities with independent living skills so that they are able to thrive in our community as value-adding/contributing members of the community.

Please join our group of high-functioning adults and their parents for exchange of information and resources and for support. All are welcome to attend!

AAPSNet September meeting

Autistic Adults and Parents Support Network (AAPSNet) will meet September 12, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library of the Wichita Public Library, 223 S. Main St.  We meet in the Board Room on the third floor (not the large meeting room--the Board Room is just past the Children's Section).

Join us as we discuss resources, ideas, challenges, and other concerns as we support each other.  Adults with high-functioning autism and their parents as well as other interested individuals in the community are welcome.  Our meetings are free and open to the public.

We will continue to meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Central Library.  Watch for more information as the new library nears completion!

APPSNet August 2017 meeting

Please join us on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library of the Wichita Public Library, 223 S. Main.  We will meet in the Board Room on the third floor.  NOTE:  This is not the large meeting room just as you exit the elevator.  Head towards the Children's Section and continue walking straight down the hall; the Board Room is at the end, just beyond the Children's area.

Want to meet with other parents of young adults with high-functioning autism?  Are you a young adult who wants to meet others who also have high-functioning autism?  Please come!! All are welcome and there is no charge to attend.  We discuss our concerns and options we know are available, exchange information and ideas, and support each other.

Monthly Meeting this Tuesday, April 11, 2017

Please join us for our next meeting.  We will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday,  April 11 at the Central Library of the Wichita Public Library, 223 S. Main.  We will be meeting in the board room on the third floor (not the large, glass-enclosed meeting area).  The board room is straight ahead after you get off of the elevator and past the children's section.

  We are a support group for mostly young adults with high-functioning autism and their parents.  All are welcome for networking, sharing of ideas and resources, and support.  Come with your ideas, questions, answers, frustrations (!), and experiences. Share our meeting information with anyone who may be interested in attending. We would love to have the adults form their own subgroup and meet on their own.  If you are an adult with high-functioning autism who would like to do so and also self-advocate, please come!

AAPSNet meeting on Tuesday, February 14

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library of the Wichita Public Library, 223 S. Main.  The library is located just a few blocks north of Kellogg (take the Central Business District exit).  We will be meeting in the Board Room, which is on the third floor.  Please join us for socializing, discussion of resources and information relating to high-functioning autism and young adults, as well as some information about an upcoming conference at Johnson County Community College (http://blogs.jccc).

Monthly AAPSNet Meeting Tuesday, January 10, 2017

Join us for our next AAPSNet meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.  We will meet at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 909 S. Market St. in room 104 (the first classroom as you enter the building).  The church is located two blocks south of Kellogg on the corner of Indianapolis St., between Main and Market streets.

New members are always welcome!  We aim to provide support, exchange of information, ideas, and resources, and networking opportunities.  We are an independent nonprofit public charity treated as an IRS 501(c)(3) organization.  Our mission is to provide information and support for those individuals (young adults) on the high-end of the autism spectrum who face challenges yet don't qualify for supports.
